Folder Annoyances

Hi, if anyone could help that would be great.

Annoyances
  • My Documents thinks it is a music folder
  • My Music doesn't know what it is

I've tried "Tweak UI" and "rundll32 mydocs.dll,PerUserInit" and the problems keep happening.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I will try more detail.

The My Documents folder sidebar contains Music tasks (Play All etc.). It also contains the faded music note in the bottom right corner. It thinks that it is a music folder. How do I change this to make it a normal My Documents folder?

The My Music folder keeps losing and gaining its correct icon. If it has its correct icon, it loses its Music Tasks sidebar (Files and Folders tasks instead). If it has a normal plain folder icon, it will have music tasks.

I have tried Tweak UI (repair icons, repair My Music icon), and also Start - Run - "rundll32 mydocs.dll,PerUserInit" .

This has not solved the problem. It's not a big deal just a little bit annoying.

Hope this helps. (edit: 4 days later - apparently not)

if you go into tools->options->view->show hidden files then also UNCHECK show system files you will find out that inside your mydoc file there is something called desktop.ini open it up and copy its contents (not the file) and make the same file (desktop.ini) in you my music folder and open that file up and paste the contents in, it shoudl look something like this
Code:
[DeleteOnCopy] Owner=Computer Personalized=13 PersonalizedName=My Music [.ShellClassInfo] InfoTip=@Shell32.dll,-12689 IconFile=%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll IconIndex=-237 IconFileOld=%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll IconIndexOld=-237
something similar to that, anywas remmeber to change your settings back
the one in your my documests shoudl say something like this
Code:
[DeleteOnCopy] Owner=Computer Personalized=5 PersonalizedName=My Documents [.ShellClassInfo] IconFile= IconIndex=0
