Other Devices Question Marks

Hi all!

I had a virus on my machine and have installed XP professional SP3 and now I cant get any sound.

On device manager I've got yellow question marks next to Other Devices which are Multimedia Audio Controller, SM Bus Controller, and Video Controller (VGA compatible)

The machine is a Compaq Presario SR1000, I've tried searching both this site and the compaq/HP websites for the drives I need but have come to a dead end.

I've ran a Belarc Advisor and here are the results

Hi, as far as I can tell this looks like the drivers for your system. The audio driver is the first download and the video driver is under "original drivers".

Thank you very much for replying.

The multimedia audio controller driver didnt work, it came up with a message saying that I do not have Soundblaster hardware.

Thankfully The VGA drivers worked!

The other one is the SM Bus controller which I dont even know what it is!

Hi the Compaq Presario SR1000 will have a letter after it which could be either, IL, T, V or Z.
If you do not know you may have to thake the side off your PC and it should be written on the M/B

On the sticker on top of the CPU just says SR1000, I've opened it up and found the MB is a MS-7184. I google'd it and it says it has a on board audio card
Controller: AC-97
Realtek ALC658C 6-channel CODEC chipset.
Ive tried googling that for the drivers but am confused as to which one I should D/L. Any ideas?
Thanks a lot
