Red face multimedia audio controller

Hi all! I'm new to this forum, so if I am doing this wrong, please forgive me? I'm not sure if I'm supposed to start a new thread or add on to another thread about the same problem. This seems to be a pretty common problem. Anyway...

I have a Compaq Presario SR1603WM. Today I reformatted my hard drive and installed Windows XP Home edition SP2 from my disk. All that extra stuff in there was getting on my nerves, now I'm thinking I made a mistake. Anyhow, I now have no sound. When I go into sounds, speech and audio devices. It says that there is no audio device connected to my computer. It continued to say this after unplugging and replugging. In the device manager, there's a whole bunch of stuff that has the question mark next to it. multimedia audio controller is the most urgent, as I need sound for my online classes. Here's what I got from Belarc:

Best place to get drivers for your Pc are from the following link:

Theres also other drivers you can download from that link.
