windows xp SP2 sound problem HELP!!!! using soundmax.

Unhappy windows xp SP2 sound problem HELP!!!! using soundmax.

Help me please i am using windows xp sp2. recently my sound isn't working. i had recently installed a program called tuneup utilitys. that is when my sound went out. i tried to uninstall it but that didn't work either. I cant change the volume at all it is dull gray bar. On the sounds and audio devices there is only the default devices. there is nothing else to select. i don't know what to do. I am using an intel motherboard. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

have you tried a System restore to before you installed that programe, there are usally at least 30 days of Restore Points listed.

Does Device manager show any problems, what make and model is your comp, get Everest http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...-Edition.shtml
post report from My Computer/Summary should show motherboard and if sound drivers installed.

Go back to Intel http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...4&submit=Go%21

install No:6 the INF: Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility then RESTART your comp.

Then install the sound driver again
