Stump the Stars

Hi all. I got something interesting. I believe my video card is going bad. (a different computer from the one in my sig) I've already gotten two blue screens warning me about a problem with my video card. My question is, if the card goes totally dead, how does one replace it? If I pull out the dead card and install a new one, what will Windows do if it boots up with old video drivers on a totally different card? I'm talking old Banshee drivers on a new Nvidia card. How do you safely swap drivers? Safe mode?

It depends on what sort of video card you are about to install as all new cards should have it's own drivers with it. With XP, install the video card and switch on the computer (take out the old card before hand). The operating system should pick up the new hardware (video card) and will request for the drivers to properly install it. Once done, that is it. Test it out once properly installed.
