Movie Maker (?) problem

I have Movie Maker 2.1. I use an Ezonics EZ Cam III webcam and a headset to record videos of myself. Until today, everything worked harmoniously. Then I tried to make a video and the captured video is distorted. Where A/V were synchronous, now there's a video lag. I did the following:

1. Unplugged and replugged the webcam.
2. Installed the webcam's driver (although it worked just fine without it).
3. Went to My Computer, right-clicked the webcam, and performed a test, which turned out fine.
4. Restarted my computer several times.
5. Threw my computer against the wall and beat it with a sledge hammer. In my mind.

I'd try to uninstall and reinstall Movie Maker, but I don't know how to reinstall it once I lose it. Any suggestions as to what I can do to get the trouble maker(s) to start working again?
