Pop up help

I rebooted my computer yesterday and since then Ive had nothing but pops ups here there and everywhere. I never had this problem before the reboot and I am using the same pop up stopper as I had before. Ive also installed Google and turned off my messenger. Still they keep coming through. Please someone help me before I throw this infernal machine out my window.

Do you have these pop ups only when you visit websites, or even when you don't? I would recommend downloading and installing Spybot Search and Destroy. After you install it, have it scan for spyware on your computer, and then remove the stuff it finds.

Also, what do you mean when you say you installed Google?

I hope this helps. Please post back with the results.

I'll try that thanks. Its doing it all the time, as long as Im connected to the internet. My whole system is going to the dogs. My internet connection keeps dropping and my screen keeps freeezing up. If your suggestion doesnt work I smell another reboot coming lol. I'll let you know how I get on, if I can lol. Thanks for the help.
Oh I forgot about google lol, I installed the google toolbar after reading some of the other posts here cause most people said it stopped their pop ups.

Ah. I see. What you have is a spyware infection, and the tool I linked to is a good tool for removing spyware. First run Spybot normally, then restart windows. Before the windows logo appears, press the F8 key. This will give you an option to boot into "Safe Mode." Choose this option, and then wait for your computer to finish starting. Your screen will probably look a little weird under safe mode, but don't worry. Start the Spybot program and have it scan again. Then restart your computer and have it start normally (not in safe mode).

Ive run spybot and there was a hell of alot of red lol, stuff overwriting my firewall and god knows what else. It has helped alot though, most of the junk is gone. Im still getting the odd pop up but things seem to be running alot more smoothly. Going to do the safe mode thing that you suggested. Thank you again for your help. You've saved me chucking the damn box out the window.

Glad to help. I forgot to mention one thing, but you may have already caught it. In Spybot, go to 'Updates' and make sure you download the detection updates. This will have spybot catch more stuff.
