Network shared password

I have a network of 4 computers right now and i woudl like to make folders public to the other computers from my laptop, i enabled sharing for "shared documents" but everytime someone tries to access that share they have to type in password and account name while when i try to access their shares i dont get a password prompt even though we are both running on XP and have passwords on our accounts, does it have to do with the fact that im running XP pro or the fact that the folder that they share is not the "shared documents" folder because on my computer in properties the sharing menu is different than theirs.

Make sure that all users have administrator rights on each of the computers. It asks for a password to access folders because of users who are given limited access permissions.

under permissions it says everyone has read control (what i want) what is really bugging me is that the other computers that are non-pro have a diff sharing menu. on the other computers the users have admin rights and still get a password prompt when tryign to access the xp pro share
