can't view folders as list by default

Hello,
I'm using xp pro and am having trouble viewing my jpegs in folders as a list by defualt. I am a digital photographer and so I need to go through hundreds of folders a day.
My operating system has this annoying default for viewing JPEGs called camera strip or something. I just need to view things as a list.
If I manually change all the folders to view as list then it works fine but then if I copy the folder it deafults to the same way of viewing the JPEG files. I physically cannot manually change all my folders each time they are created to view as list. Where can I change these defaults?

First, set your folders the way that you want them (list or detail), then right-click Start > Explore > Tools > Folder Options > View

Click the button that says "Apply to All Folders"
