You may want to log on as Administrator to reset your password.

If you are using the Welcome screen to logon, you should see other login names listed. Or is yours the only one there? If there are other login names and you do know the passwords (or ask the owner of the login name), logon and reset your password. This would only work if that user has the administrator rights.

If you are not using the Welcome screen, type in Administrator as login id and logon without any password. Hopefully (and unfortunately for security reason) you did not specify any password for this user id during the install.

Look like your best bet would be to take the hard drive out and install it onto another computer as slave and copy all your data , afterward just reformat the drive and reinstall windows , You see members can't tell whether its really is your computer or not , Right ? Now i'm not saying it ain't but just think about what you are asking ? If this computer let say isn't your , Do you think it would be cool for others to help you crack someone else computer ? How are we to know for real ? And you only posted 6 posts , So your new here , We don't know whether or not your legit , I would just do what I suggested at the begin

Change the name? If you're using XP you should be able to log into the Admin account under Safe Mode, go to User Options in the Control Panel, and simply Remove Password on the problem account. Note that's "should," something may be different on your system.

Yes that may be true, but if you've forgotten the Admin password you can't do anything.

I agree with Snooker on this one.

sorry all to bud-in......I have to dis-agree with most of you....there are more then one way of getting into a locked system.

I used Winternals Admin 2005 to open locked system, it saved my behind many times.....don't work for Windows Vista. This software is good enough that tech support people in Microsoft have been using it for long time and finally Microsoft decide to buy the out and they did.

You can you the Lock Smith module in the Winternals Admin software to change the password on the operating system, it even works for servers too.

As I told you before. As you boot up press the F8 key( about every second until the system sees it being pressed). This will get you into safe mode. When safe mode comes up , you will see ADMINISTRATOR as your top choice. Go in as admin. and there you can go to every user and do as you wish. Good Luck again.. Lenny

Not always F8, but it is the usual key

I agree, should get you to the following log on screen if everything else works OK.

Not really true because if you have an Administrator password on the PC (and you CAN'T remember it you won't be able to get in.

But with Snowmonkeys advice, that may be the best bet (I have yet to test this out btw)
Can someone advise how successful this software is to use?
