Do you have XP Home???

If you do, go to Control Panel - User Accounts - Create a new user.

Then log in with that user and return to User Accounts under Control Panel. Click on the Administrator account and different options appear including to change password.

Hope this helps.

http://www.password-changer.com/

This is not free though

Or

If you can log on as admin or with admin rights but have just forgotten the password then ....

click on Start - Run and type control userpasswords2

This will bring up a user accounts window

This window should list all of the users along with an option at the bottom for resetting the Administrators password

How to find out my lost admin password?

One method of gaining access to the system is by trying hard to remember the forgotten password, or a password of another user which has the same level of administrative rights. However I don't think this approach will help you, otherwise you wouldn't be sitting here reading article, would you?)

Another method is by trying to restore a backed up System State (in Windows 2000/XP/2003) or a ERD (in NT 4.0) in which you do remember the password. The problem with doing so is that you'll probably lose all of the recently add users and groups, and all the changed passwords for all of your users since the last backup was made.

A third method might be to use third party tools, such as PC Beginner Utility, it can recover XP/2k/NT/2003 PW, I tried it, http://www.pcbeginner.com/tools/pcdoctor.htm

Good luck!

Take a look at the URL to an article which has links to some free software that can retrieve your lost admin password.

Please rephrase what you said in your post, doesn't make sense.

By what you said, I am guessing you are trying to discover the original password, you can't. Best to change it to a password you will remember. Refer to my previous post for a link to one site that can help.

Thanks
