Desktop problem

I keep getting a 2 1/2 inch wide vertical "Folder Tasks" menu bar popping up on the left side of my desktop and unchecking "show Desk top icons" causes my background theme picture to be covered by a totally red screen which is my selected solid color. Would anyone have an idea what could be causing this.

Thanks in advance ... Jason

Click Here to open a Kelly's Korner page.

On that page, scroll down to line 15 and in the left-hand column, click on "Remove Common Tasks Folder From the Desktop" to download a small .reg file.

Once you have it saved to the harddrive, run it according to the instructions at the top of the Kelly's Korner page.

That usually fixes the problem.
