Sorry about the spelling but I meant write protection and the error message is: access denied, make sure the file is not write protected or in use.

Delete it in Safe Mode. If that fails, then try the following free programs: -

Pocket KillBox

Unlocker

How can I get into safe mode? I don't know how. Advice will be much appreciated. I am trying to rid my computer of the worst cancerous program I ever encountered: SpamBlockerUtility. It is driving me crazy.

how to delete write protected files....forget about going into safe mode, all you have to do is got to task manager and select the process tab, then select the image name i.e. the file thats corrupt and right click it, then select ''END PROCESS''. Theres usually more than one image so make sure you get them all, omce this is done you can delete the file!!#

It's a bit of an old thread now Shog, however, the majority of the time, it's not as easy as you seem to think deleting a file that gives an 'Access is Denied' message.

If deleting in Safe Mode doesn't work, it will often need a third party application such as Unlocker to actually delete the file in question.
