Reinstalling Outlook Express in XP

I've encountered a small problem of late. Apparently an attachment of some kind has shut down my Outlook program. When I click to access it, the start-up screen hangs on the desktop but the program never starts. If anyone has any suggestions for (a) solving the problem or (b) reinstalling Outlook I'd appreciate them. Thanks.

NOTE: You must be logged on as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group in order to perform this procedure.

Click Start , click Run , and then type the following command:
%systemroot%\inf

NOTE : There are no spaces at all in the preceding command line.

Click OK to open the INF folder.
Locate the file MSOE50.inf .
Right-click the file, and then click Install . This will reinstall the files that Outlook Express needs to proceed normally.

It will ask you to put your windows XP cd in the drive

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried that: no success. What I'm seeing is that Outlook Express is using 98% of my memory, hanging at the start-up screen, but it doesn't kick into the program. This is very strange considering everything was fine a few days ago.
