There are two ways of blocking and you have to be clear on that in order for us to help you out.

1- You want your computer / user at access those two site !!

2- You don't want those two sites access your system / IP address !!

Which one of the two you need help with.

Cheers

Use a firewall. If you do not have one then try these free firewalls, refer to the link below.

I would use a firewall, but i don't want them to figure out how to unblock the websites and still open them..

Old timer...adding the site to the block list is not going to cut is...it's very simple to remove that...

daer0n, there are couple of way around it....if your users are not computer savvy then you can simply achieve that by adding those two sites to the hosts file.....

something like this, add the following two line to the hosts file.

ratemyfaceadult.com 127.0.0.1
deviantart.com 127.0.0.1

some help about hosts file:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

now, if your users are computer savvy then you can block those sites by adding them to the ban list on your router setting.

Cheers

Hi ... I agree with Snowmonkey but I would also would use what Oldtimer said too , I would use both areas , With having in the pricay site area that could just throw them off if they were to remove it from there and later find out they still can't access those sites , having a host program is a good idea , I like hostsman , I wonder if you can tell lol

Hey daer0n,

I guess by now you know where the hosts file is located...if not...go to C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\ and open hosts file with notepad....then replace the content of the hosts file with the one below...this should work:

--------------------------------------------
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
# For example:
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

www.ratemyfaceadult.com/index.cfm 127.0.0.1
www.ratemyfaceadult.com 127.0.0.1
ratemyfaceadult.com 127.0.0.1
www.deviantart.com 127.0.0.1
deviantart.com 127.0.0.1
207.44.192.69 www.google.com
69.28.181.43 www.google.com
----------------------------------------------

If user tries to go to the site it will loop back (127.0.0.1) and nothing will be displayed and if the user gets smart and tries to go to the IP address directly then they will be send to Google.com (the last two lines are for that)

Let me know if that works.

Cheers

I opened the hosts file, which is caled lmhosts.sam, i assume this is the right one since there isn't any other there that says host, so i opened this file with the notepad, replaced it with the info that you gave me there, went to the websites but they still open, the only thing that i noticed is that it doesn't display a few pictures on the website but thats it...

daer0n,

Windows operating system comes with the hosts file...if your system doesn't have (it must have been deleted).....lmhosts.sam is not what I'm talking about .sam stands for (SAMPLE).

Open notepad and paste the text below in there and name is "Hosts" NO EXTENSION...and place it in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc........

127.0.0.1 www.ratemyfaceadult.com/index.cfm
127.0.0.1 www.ratemyfaceadult.com
127.0.0.1 ratemyfaceadult.com
127.0.0.1 www.deviantart.com
127.0.0.1 deviantart.com

it works, try it again.

Cheers

You don't have a problem to post that i see.Or explain it better.
