Backup of emails from Windows Me to XP
Hi Guys and Girls,
I have Norton Utilities on a PC which is running on WIN ME. On this PC I have backed up the email program 'OUTLOOK' by using NORTON CLEAN SWEEP. This program has been saved to a 'mobile' plug-and-play Hard Drive, which I use for all my backups. On my PC the follwing directory was backed up:
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Installer\
This directory contained all the .dbx files, which I believe represents the emails.
I also have a notebook, which also has Norton Utilities installed, as well as 'OUTLOOK'. This notebook is running Windows XP (Home).
I now want to restore (copy) the PC backup to my Notebook, but can't find which directory to copy the emails (backup) to? On the PC 'OUTLOOK' was installed on the C:\ drive under the directory 'WINDOWS' (As described above).
On the Notebook I can not find a directory called 'APPLICATION DATA' and thus do not know where to copy the files (emails) to?
In other words, does anyone know where the emails from my PS is suppose to be copied to on my notebook, so that I can activate the email program ('OUTLOOK') on the notebook and view my emails?
I am not sure if it is enough to only copy the .dbx files from the PC to the Notebook, or should I just use NORTON CLEAN SWEEP as described above?
Plc help as I want to make sure I can access my PC emails on my Notebook, but not 100% sure which directory to copy to....
Thanks
