Version number/

I got the version number of WMP removed from my desktop, but i heard it will show up again if i install sp1, how do i remove it?

WELL, whatever you do, do not go to some crappy forum and do what say. do not delete any registry keys or use any registry hacks. bottom line: DON'T MESS WITH IT!!! I did, and I ended up not being able to boot, my hard drive was suddenly RAW file format, I lost all my files, had to format the drive, use a shitload of "undelete" utilities and applications to get it back, and ended up installing windows xp again all over including my programs. simply not worth it. just wait for the final version to come out and the message will dissapear.
