Wireless Connection Help

I have recently got 2 dell desktop pc's with XP PRO installed and they are both wireless compatible(I.E. i dont need an adapter.). However when they are searching for the wireless connection, they don't recognize it. Is there a way i need to configure them to enable a wireless connection?
I have the connection working on a wireless laptop/computer so its not the connection/hardware related to the wireless router thats the problem. I can gbet it to work buy buying 2 wireless adapters but is there any other way?
Thanks for any responses in advance.

well the abovious answer is: is your pc to far away or is the antena damaged?

the less abvious answer is : is it configured to search for infranstructure rather then ad-hoc

If it doesn't recognise it. Try another computer that does recognise the wireless. It may need rebooted, the problem might not lie with the PCs.

Solved the Problem. Rang dell to find out it wasn't actually set up for wireless . Bought 2 adapters and work fine but one question. One PC is really far away from router and only has 3/5 signal strength. ANyway to improve this? (I Bought the best adapter for it).
