My optical drives no longer Autoplay!!! Help please!!!
Someone please help. I recently installed a few programs on my computer and now XP will not read my optical drives when I insert a new disk. This is particularly annoying when I am in NERO. Previously the computer would read the drive and contents and update the frames in NERO automatically. Now I have to click off my computer and re-click it to show the contents and yet the label for the drive remains the same as before. Although I installed a couple of programs, the one I think that did the damage was CDemulator. It's a program that creates a ghost cd drive on your hard drive. The worst part is that my system restore must have been wiped by it and I can't get back to my old settings. I've tried to fix the problem by using the device manager to re-enable autolay but there is no option for this. I am using XP Home edition on a Pentium 2.4 with a Sony cdrw and a Sony 16x DVD rom, Seagate 80g barracuda, mx440, gigabyte mb, 512 ram etc. I would greatly appreciate any help!!!
