Cpu Usage High

i've just installed windows xp profissional
and i downloaded the recommended updates
then i found that my cpu usage in the task manager is high
about 50 to 60 %
that's always happen even after restart
and there's no application in the background or something
my pc is p4 1.4 256 cache and 512 ram geforce II 32 mb sound card creative vibra 4d
cd rom acer 52x hdd wd 100 gb motherboard giga byte intel 845
please inform me what to do :s

Use Ctl - Alt - Del to bring up Task Manager.

Select the processes tab and sroll down the list to see which one is using your CPU.

Once you have discovered which process is hogging the CPU a bit of investigation will determine whether it is safe to 'end' it.
