Win 98 better than Windows XP ??

after me XP is a big mambo jombo. it looks great but it is full of
crap.
i have a AMD duron at 900 MHz, GeForce 2 400MX, with 160 RAM
Quake 3 arena has about 90 fps under win 98 and under XP 45 fps(!!!!!). and a ot of games don't work under 98!!!
under 98 i was listening to music, a film was playing in the background and i was copying a CD. all was fine.
BUT under XP i couldnt listen to music and copy a CD at the same time!!!!
im dissapointed!!

Did you do an upgrade or a fresh install because XP shouldn't behave as you say it does - it's much better than Windows 98 hands-down, XP is not the problem here.

it was a fresh install. i formated my HDD first!!!

Well I run XP on a PII 350 with no problems at all so there's something wrong with your config or something. Have you downlaoded the latest drivers for your graphics card e.t.c. or did you just let XP install the default ones? (could explain the Quake II things).

i've downloaded the latest drivers for my video card from nvidia's site. i don't think that's the problem. i've also downloaded the latest for my motherbord and sound and modem and everything's new!!!!
