Windows not booting up properly
My computer has been acting weird ever since i built it , it would randomly freeze just from watching videos or playing games every now and then . It would just completely freeze and i couldnt move or do anything so i would hit the restart button. I could never run a virus scan either because it freezes at a certain point and today it happened as usual so i had to hit the reset button. Thing is though windows wouldnt boot , it stopped at a black screen with the white underscore flashing in the corner .
I popped in the xp cd to repair it and when i took out the xp cd it wouldnt boot again stopping at the screen so i tried reformatting and installing xp all over . Same thing and it only boots now if I have the xp cd in . I tried making my hard drive the first boot device but its the same black screen so i have to keep my cd drive as the first boot device . My comp runs fine now its just i cant boot it up without having the xp cd in the drive .
Does anyone know any solutions to fix this? Your help is much appreciated.
