Matty,

That depends on what exactly you mean by "can't see anything on the screen". If you're literally getting a blank screen than *I* can't help you (I'm sure someone else could, though). If you mean that you can see something on the screen but it's too blurry or fragmented to be useful, then I may be able to help. I'm assuming you can see *something* because you obviously read that 720x400 resolution setting from somewhere...

So, if you know your way around device manager well enough than you can go into device manager, locate the Display Adapters category and remove your video device from it. When you reboot it will force windows to re-detect your display adapter. This has always worked for me when my display drivers go screwy. Hopefully you can make out enough of what's on the screen to get this far...

Hope this helps!

matty,

Well that complicates things. If I was in your position I would stick my old video card in, uninstall the drivers as I mentioned above, then put my normal video card back in and take it from there...I suppose having extra hardware sitting around is a luxury of sorts, but on the off chance that you have access to *any* spare video card, now may be the time to use it.

On the other hand, it's awfully strange that running it in safe mode didn't set the resolution to something more normal (and ugly)...are you sure you actually booted in safe mode? You're running blind, after all...

Also, if there's a spare monitor around that you can use you might try that...who knows, maybe your monitor's gone AWOL.

Just some more suggestions...hope they help. If/When you get it fixed, I'd appreciate if you'd let me know what you did, for future reference.

Cheers!
