Go here to Dell http://support.euro.dell.com/support...os=WW1&osl=EN#

First install the Chipset driver then Restart your comp

Then check device manager again to see if you need the other drivers.

Audio, if onboard get the ADI 198x

Then the Network driver, if you have 2 ethernet sockets get both drivers.

If you have problems installing, disconnect from the internet and turn off your antivirus.Don't forget to turn back on.

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING EACH DRIVER JUST IN CASE

Hope this helps

Did you install the Chipset driver, this should be installed before any other drivers, it tells the target system which INF files to load

Cheers

PCI Input Device

Hello,

I have a Dell Dimension 4550 with a pci sound card by Creative Labs, tricky situation, before I reloaded XP SP2 I got the drivers, when you get prompted to load the Audio Device the driver folder only gives you part of the sound card, the other part of the sound card where you get the PCI Input device error under Device Manager, you must go get the driver from Dell.com here is the URL for anyone interested: http://support.dell.com/support/down...atid=&imp id=

Select the Creative Labs patch upgrade
NOTE: THIS URL IS ONLY FOR THE DIMENSION 4550, IF YOU NEED FOR ANOTHER COMPUTER FOLLOW THE SAME INSTRUCTIONS JUST CHANGE THE MODEL OF PC.

Hope this helps!
