Hi,
Win XP Pro v.2002 PIV 2000, Intel MB, 256 RAM, ATI Rage 128 pro ultra GL AGP, 40 GB FAT32 splitted into 2 drives: C and D
Here is how it happened. First I lost my capability of accessing ip communication. I thought it was a virus so I scanned with three different antivirus, and it was clean. So, I thought that probably some system files could have been damaged, so I tried to reinstall my win xp pro. It just crashed out. Couldn't pass a screen which said that the system will reboot to avoid damages, and it went in a vicious circle over and over: blue screen with the warning - rebootin - blue screen - and so on. So I decided to boot up from the CD and reinstall the OS. It worked up but, XP failed to see itself or any other previous Win OS on the drive, it installed itself with a clean registry. So, all the programs on my hard disk are not recorded in the start menu. Now, when I boot up, two win xp options appear at the menu, the old xp and the new one. The problem is, how can I transfer all the information I once used, like updates, programs downloaded, drivers, etc. if I don't have the original programs anymore since they were deleted to save space. The old OS, can't be oppened as I said.
Now, a second problem, I use the ATI Rage 128 pro ultra GL AGP, which worked fine for me. After reinstalling the OS, I can't see full screen video. I checked up the driver, and doesn't have conflicts. Any advise?
Regards,
Juan
