Hmmm...
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
STOP: 0 x 0000000A (0 x 00000068, 0 x 00000002, 0 x 00000000, 0 x 804F98B7)
Breaking open "Windows XP Inside Out Delux Edition," I know this means that a kernel-mode process or driver attempted to access a memory location without authorization, and that this STOP error is typically caused by faulty or incompatible hardware or software. Butt his book was written by Microsoft, so I don't understand exactly what happened. I understand that the name of the offending device driver often appears in the STOP error and can provide an important clue to solving the problem, but the name must be written in ASCII or something because I didn't see/recognize it. Additional research into the values in parentheses turned up nothing.
What's going on is this: I plug in the webcam and unplug it. the computer DOESN'T crash. I plug it in, make a video with it, exit out of Movie Maker, unplug the webcam, and the computer DOES crash. This, as I said, is a recent phenomenon. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall my webcam?
EDIT
Additional information: The crash only happens when the saved movie file is still in its originally saved spot; removing it by moving or deleting before unplugging the webcam doesn't cause the crash. Also, some research and a forced crash later, I've determined that the driver details aren't given by the blue screen.
