Angry messenger popups

I followed the instructions to type Services.msc in my run box and then to disable the feature, but XP says it can't find Services.msc on my computer. Meanwhile, I still have those #@*&* popups.
Thanks microsoft XP.
Does anyone know what I should do?

You may want to try Spybot. I tried it and had really great luck getting rid of a lot of popups. Spybot is easy to install and worked for me. I copied this from another post because I don't know how to link. I hope it works for you.

Hi bthitpen, to disable the messenger service (not MSN messenger) you go.
Start=>control panel=>Admin tools =>
services=>scroll down to messenger=> right click and choose stop=>right click again and choose properties=>at "startup type" choose disabled=> apply and ok.

Good luck and happy computing

Steve
