Graphic board problem

I had this problem for over half a year now, when i run any 3D application, mostly games, first it blocks right as it starts running, then, after a while,it unblocks but the textures appear with a lot of small black squares on them.
My operating system is Windows XP SP1,my graphic board's a NVidia GeForce FX 5600,64 mb memory, with the latest Nvidia drivers installed,i have 512 mb RAM,and a Soltek mainboard.
I don't know what could have caused it,it just happened.Waiting for answers, and thanks in advance

Any idea what version of DirectX you are running? It would also be a good idea to update to Service Pack 2 and other MS Updates and Hotfixes.

I'm running on directX 9.0c.I don't really know how to work with MS updates,or hotfixes, and i had SP2 before i formatted last time, and it didn't work,so i went back to SP1,someone told me it would be more stable.

As per their driver install hints, make sure your anti virus software is disabled BEFORE installing the drivers.

Was this the driver you downloaded? http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html

Either update your graphic drivers or replace your VGA card, 64MB on 3d applications? May work on some, might be worse on others.

Try and use a 128MB card or 256MB as a minimum.

well,i updated the drivers,i tried to update my mainboard driver as well, but ended up reinstalling Windows after my computer kept restarting each time i turned it on.i dont really know where i went wrong.
i guess i could replace my VGA card, but it worked on 3d applications in the past,im guessing that this is another kind of problem.I'm not trying to render high resolution images or anything, but it does this even with simple 3D games, with graphic details as low as possible.

EDIT:now i installed a copy of windows XP sp2,and it still does the same thing
