XP professional not picking up NT 4 server policies

I have a number of NT 4 workstations, 2000 professional workstaions which are connected to a nt4 server. There are different ADM's for different users so when they log in they are restricted to certain areas on the workstaion.

In XP professional it does not pick up the policies from the nt4 server.

Could someone suggest something or is it to do something with XP professional not be compatiable with a nt4 server.

Some advise would be great.
