Suddenly No Sound on Toshiba Laptop

Yesterday I was converting a song from wma to mp3 using Tunebrite. Then suddenly I lost all sound from my Toshiba Qosmio F25. There are no error messages. I did all the normal checking volume settings, making sure nothing was muted, checked audio drivers. Reinstalled SoundMAX drivers. No errors or (!) on device manager. Everything appears to be working correctly just no sound coming out of speakers or headphone jacks. No system sounds. No sound at all. If I play a song using itunes or windows media player it plays the song with no errors and appears to be playing it from the audio bars at the bottom (not sure the exact term for those bars that go up and down based on the song). Just no sound comes out. I've been reading posts on here and tried everything I've seen thus far. I changed the registry back to default. I changed the BIOS back to all default settings. I used system restore to try several different restore points where I knew the sound previously worked. Still no sound. I'm completely stumped and would greatly appreciate any help I can get. Like I said everything appears completely normal, everything plays, no errors, no hardware conflicts. Just no sound out of the speakers or headphones or anything. Thanks ahead for your time. Since I did the system restore, would using the system to disk to do a full restore possibly restore it or probably not since I already did system restore to previous day. Curious cause I don't have the disk for MS Office or PC-cillian my parents do and I live NY they live in WY so if I did a full system restore I will either have to pay for another copy of those or live without it until I can get the disk back from my parents.
