I DID SYSTEM RESTORE AND I LOST ALL MY PHOTOS AND MUSIC... How can I get them back??

Someone please help me
My computer died last night at one point and I could only do system restore from the boot up screen.

I have done this before and it worked perfectly.

However, last night I did it and it seems to have wiped all my photos and music I had stored and I cant seem to restore to any previous date. It actually seems to me that it has gone back to factory settings like when I bought the computer

Please someone tell me there is a way that my photos are still there but have moved to a different folder and that I can restore them

Is it that simple, cos when I managed to log onto my computer and go to system tools and system restore, there were no dates possible to restore to.

Or am i not doing something??

I think you can do it for a certain time or untill you turn off your computer or something like that, but i have done it a few times were i restored to an earlier time and then lost some files and then canceled the last restore and then got the files back
