how to re-detect all hardware in XP

Hi
Connected with earlier post - 15 boards zero solution 2 response ! I feel humbled that I have such a special problem .

Can anyone advise me on how I can 'flick a switch' that would cause re-boot to have to re-detect all system hardware ?

My mboard is an ASUS A7N8X-X. Now bios setting for re-dectecting PCI's etc. Tried right clicking and uninstalling in device manager but thats messy and wasn't complete as some won't let me.

Hopefully an easier one to answer ????

Cheers
J

Thumbs up

Here is a better idea...

Go to Settings -> Control Panel -> System

Once the window appears, click on Hardware tab and then Device Manager button.

Another window should then appear. Highlight the computer name and click on "Action" in menu list.

In that list, select "Scan for Hardware Changes".

That will detect all hardware on the computer system.

Hope this helps!!!
