Shell Extensions? Windows Explorer problems

If anybody would be kind enough to help me out of this mess im in i would be grateful.
Upon clicking, right clicking several different types of files in my documents and within shared network files i receive the message that windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I've been going round the bend with a whole host of spyware, adware, virus scanners, including spybot, avg, errornuker, ewido, norton etc (list goes on) and have found and removed several unwanted guests but to no avail with my problem.
Ive been told to check out my shell extensions and have been through shelexview and various other tricks.
I was told the problem may lie in dr watson and thus went into the reg and disabled it with no results.
i have not tried debugging yet as not sure enough on what to do.

not tryin to be a smart @ss but ya mite reinstall your operating system i think it would be easyer just copy the file ya want to keep and if ther small enof ya can email the files to your self to ive done that before
