Computer Randomly Restarts!!

I got a brand new computer.

Pentium(R) D CPU 3.40Ghz
1.25 GB ram (1x 1024Mb Pc3200 (200mhz), 1x 256 PC3200 (200mhz))
Windows XP (HE)
ASUStek Mother board
ATI redeon 9800 series
450watt power supply ( used to be 400watt till it blew up)

Had this probalem for a while now. basically the computer restarts when im downloading or playing games or watching movies. even in safe mode it restarts (if I try to run a couple of programs) I have tried replaceing the ram, which was no help (left me with an extra stick though ) and all my termpertures are fine as is fan speed. last week my power supply blew with a big white flash n i got sent out a new 450watt one and was told that this should fix my problem. it has not.

Computer still restarts albiet less frequent. still with computer games and videos so I try to change my graphics crad to see if that help but again no luck. not tried rebooting the system yet as I feel everything points to hardware... I may be wrong.

If you need any more details feel free to ask as i'll be chking back here regularly until I get this fixed.

thanks in advance.

For a PSU to blow on a new PC (and then for the supplier to expect you to fit a new one yourself) is diabolical, in my view. It (the PC) should have gone back under warranty, as it should now. Why should you have to fix a new PC? Would you let the manufacturer of your new car off the hook if the engine blew up?

P.c. restarted before I put in new power supply.

I would rather find out the problem or at least work at it until im sure that theres nothing I can do.

I can get parts for free and fit them if its a hardware problem, I have no fuss with that but i'd rather find out than send the whole thing back.

please helpif you can. a return is my last option.
