Windows picture/fax viewer problem?

Hi all

When I receive any email attachment with a jpeg - windows picture viewer wont let me look at it (cant generate preview). However when I open up a jpeg in my pictures folder it works fine. What going on? I use Mozilla firefox for internet.

Any ideas?

If you are using Outlook Express (whatever web browser you use is irrelevant in this context), it has a security feature built-in which prevents you opening attachments which could potentially carry a virus. You have to save them to a folder first. If you find this inconvenient, you can change a setting which allows you to open attachments directly. You should have an anti-virus application which checks incoming emails before doing this:
1. Open OE
2. Click on "Tools->Options"
3. Click the "Security" tab.
4. UNtick "Do not allow attachments to be opened ............."
