USB Falsh Disk

Does anyone know how to make a USB Flash Disk read only like a CD-R or like a floppy disk when you flick the switch?

I am trying to create an all in one USB utility. It would have what anti-virus and anti-malware software would class as "Hacking Tools" on. At the moment I try to access a "Hacking Tool" with the anti-virus and anti-malware software installed and before I can do any thing it’s deleted. This happens even if I disable the anti-virus and anti-malware software.

With what I propose, means that the anti-virus and anti-malware software with not delete the "Hacking Tools" it will just block access to the tools. Then I should be able to just disable the anti-virus and anti-malware software and it should be able to run.

Does anyone see any flaws in this? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
