I need help! My audio device isn't working!

My Update Wizard was searching my audio controller but when I cancelled it because I needed to turn off my computer, my sound completely vanished! I've searched through everything on my computer and found a message: "You do not have any audio software on your computer." Can someone please tell me where I can get free new sound software?

Need more info, make and model of comp, or the Service Tag number, it will be on a label on the comp, or get Belarc http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
