Will XP have a problem working with 128MB RAM?

See, i have Me (i know truly outdated). i want to upgrade to XP, but only have 128 MB. i only use my PC for internet surfing and really nothing else.

i have had many tell me that it would really not work with only 128MB or that it will be as slow as molasses sap dripping from a tree.

is that true and i really can't do anything with an Me, 128MB Sony Vaio?

Personally, I have a 128MB Compaq Presario and works fine. So you should be fine.

really?? this is the first good news i've heard. it doesn't run really slow and it is indeed still as speedy as my Me is?

all i would need is the XP upgrade, correct?

128 is way to low , why can't you just add some more ram ? Its pretty cheap nowadays , If fact I can probably send you some ram if you want it , just pay for the shipping , PM if your interested ? Yes that all you need is an upgrade version of xp

it is a 6yr-old Sony Vaio. very good system with 60 gig hard drives. won't the drivers come with the upgrade package?

If you do an upgrade over your ME version ? It should work but it might not to , If you do a clean install ? Then you will need the motherboard chipset driver , audio , video and internet adapter and what ever else hardware you have install , Did you get an windows ME disk ? Or was it preinstall version , product recovery ?
