Beeps When Playing Games

When I click on the shortcut to load some games I have on my PC (Splinter Cell and IL-2 Sturmovik) I've noticed my computer beeps a couple of times before the game loads up.

Everything goes along normally but those beeps are very strange.

Can anyone think why?

If it's the System Speaker that is beeping then post how it sounds .
Example: 2 short beeps , 1 long beep etc....

All Mother Boards have Beep codes to identify Hardware errors.

Well, I listened carefully and here's what happens when I start Splinter Cell.

I double-click the shortcut to play SplinterCell - the splash screen appears, my desktop flashes to darkness - it BEEPS once - the Ubi Soft screen appears then the intro...the desktop flashes again and there's two BEEPS and then the game appears as normal.

It almost seems like it beeps whenever it has to change screen size - my desktop is 1152 * 864 but I run most games at 1024 * 764 (the beeps happen regardless of desktop resolution though).

Changing resolution within Windows results in no beeps.

There are no beeps with IL-2 but there are beeps when loading FIFA 2003 and whenever I start a match (there's a loading screen before each match).

Also, I'm running ASUS 43.45 drivers.........and the beeps are short with about half a second between (when there's more than one).

Well here's the AMI beep codes for you to have anyway.http://bioscentral.com/beepcodes/amibeep.htm

These usually occur at Post ( Computer power-up) rather than when you are currently in use of the Computer. But it could have something to do with your Vid Card, since you mention it happens when the screen switches. In my old ASUS A7A board, my System speaker would Have a long beep when it went above the desired temperature setting in my hardware Monitor in BIOS. Make sure it's the system speaker and not some program you may have running that uses audio alerts. Just a thouhgt. If it is your System Speaker, then something is failing somewhere.
