Problem with second display

I am using a Toshiba Satelite A60 with ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7000IGP (128MB) and WindowsXP home, SP2.
I changed my original hard drive for a bigger one and installed everything on it as it was before, using the Toshiba recovery disk.
Before my second screen (TFT Acer AL1714) was working fine, but with the new hard disk it is on for about 7 seconds and then switches of for about 4 seconds and so on and so on. I updated my graphics driver, but no change. I replaced the new hard disk by the old one and the problem was gone. What to do to get rid of the problem with the new hard disk???

The old disk would have had the Windows settings for a second display set up properly. My guess is those settings are not correct on your new Windows installation (unless you "cloned" the old partition on to the new disk). Check the display settings in Control Panel are set up correctly for the secondary display device (the Acer monitor).
