Still? This is the first official release by Microsoft.

Windows Media Player 9.0 Build 9.00.00.2799 was officially released on 04-Sep 02 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...ad/default.asp)

If you're installing the new public beta 2799 over leaked, newer build 2848, it will appear to install, but will keep the 2848 build. Only a fresh install of 2799 will produce the older build.

I deleted all the WMP8 files, then installed WMP9. All drivers now show 2799 but then when I go to Help>about still 2848?

What can be causing the problem? Also when I install SP1, will the watermark still appear as the drivers are changed?

I will also be able to install newer versions over 2848 if MS releases them right?

Yep.

2848 is newer version so you need not install 2799 (which was released yesterday by Microsoft)

No idea. Well, delete everything and try again.

Watermark won't be there if you install the SP1 which Microsoft officially release.

Leaked version of software are all Install on your own risk. That's why they don't release it to the public.

Ok then. So 2848 of WMP9 and Sp1 official won't create the watermark again?

Cool

The premierdownload site is up and down because of very heavy usage. If you are lucky to connect..expect very very slow download speeds.
