BSOD Referencing USBUHCI.SYS

Hello all -

I would appreciate any info anyone may have on this issue -

I get the BSOD referencing USBUHCI.SYS about 10 minutes after I boot my PC. I researched this problem and found several mentions of USB device drivers being a likely culprit. However, I can leave all USB devices active with my original 256MB memory and never see a problem. Just yesterday I installed a new 256MB memory module to get to 512MB total RAM. It is only when this additional memory is installed that I get the aforementioned BSOD. When I go back to the original 256, all is again fine.

Could a bad RAM module cause this issue as well?

I suppose that I could remove my original 256 and put in only the new 256 and see if the problem recurs. That would pretty much point to the new RAM as the culprit. I am a little bit leary of doing that and ending up with the BSOD no matter what I do. So, before trying that, I thought I'd ask.

Thanks.

Sounds like you have a problem with that stick of ram! Have you checked to see if there is a bios update for your m/board?

Thanks, Able!

Yes - it's a Dell and I checked the Dell website for newer BIOS, but there is no update.

So, you do agree that it's bad RAM?

Well for sure your m/board don't like that extra stick. Any chance you can borrow another stick of ram to try?

Thanks again

Hmmmm....I'll have to look around to see if anyone I know (or any PCs at work) have the same type of RAM that I can try out. Good thought! Thanks.
