Unhappy No audio 5min after reboot

Hi,

I'm starting to get really frustrated with this problem.

I have reinstalled xp multiple times, and every time I have the same problem. The audio stops after about 5 minutes after windows starts up.

It works perfectly, but after a few minutes it just stops completly, not even the windows sounds work. Only when i've restarted the whole system, then it works for about 5 min.

I'm sure i've got the right drivers.... Audio wouldn't play at all if I installed the wrong driver...right??

Does anyone know how to fix this?

It may be a hardware issue. B4 you installed XP multiple times was it working ok? Have you got the latest bios update? Have you changed any hardware recently?

The reason I reinstalled xp was because the sound wasn't working, I thought that maybe I had a virus.
I haven't changed any hardware.

The latest bios update...Where can I find it? At the website of the manufacturer?

The manufacturer should support your m/board bios(some companies are better than others)! Make sure you follow the instructions for flashing your bios EXACTLY and with the correct file, else your motherboard will be fubar! It may also be that your sound (card?) is breaking down for some reason. I'm wondering if it is getting too hot maybe? The 5 mins thing suggests that. What is the motherboard and is it a seperate sound card or onboard?
