How do I disable the F3 key?

I use F2 to rename files all the time and never have use for the search function, so you can imagine my frustration when I hit F3 instead of F2. I've searched the internet for a solution, which tells me this:

A. To disable the F3 key search capability, perform the following steps:

1. Start regedit.
2. Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Inte rnet Explorer\Restrictions registry subkey. If this subkey doesn't exist, open the Edit menu and select New, Key to create it.
3. From the Edit menu, select New, DWORD Value.
4. Enter the name NoFindFiles, then press Enter.
5. Double-click the value, set it to 1, then click OK.
6. Log off and log on for the change to take effect.

Here's my problem: when I follow the file path mentioned in Step 2, I make it as far as HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft--THERE IS NO IE FOLDER! Another website suggested going through HKEY_USERS and following the exact same file path, which leads me to the exact same dead end.

Is there a REAL way for me to disable the F3 key? Thanks!

Sound simple enough instructions.

Er...Why don't you create the value it's asking for?

I've figured out how to create the folders, and shockingly the procedure didn't work. Anybody got anything? I don't want to resort to popping off the F3 key!

(Which, incidentally, is the same reason why I've disabled the Windows key, since accidentally hitting it interfered with gameplay of DOS-emulated games.)

Nope. Highlight-->F2 is a lot faster than Highlight-->Right click-->Scroll down list-->Click Rename, which is why I don't want to stop doing it.

Yes it can, with 100% accuracy!

No, my mouse pointer does the highlighting (single-click to open!)
