What is Wgal.gon.dll. I am running Win XP Professional. The Spybot Startup Tool indicates that Wgal_ogon is initiated by my System.int files. All Google searches, as well as a Software Tips and Tricks search, indicate "nothing found". When I attempt to deactivate it by unchecking it in the Spybot Startup Tool, a second version appeared.

Is it dangerous? Thank you for any information of Wgal_ogon.

You've mis-spelled it. It's called "wgalogon.dll" and it's a genuine Microsoft file related to the "Windows Genuine Advantage" which checks your product key for validity whenever you visit Windows Update.

If however your spelling is correct (wgal.gon.dll) then it's malware and you need to get rid of it.

Thank's, pip22, I misread the name. I read it as Wgal _ ogon.dll - BUT, I should have read it as WgaLogon.dll. I don't have a problem.
