No Sound Card and missing Devices

Hi, I currently have a problem with my Windows XP Home Edition. I recently reformatted it because I had received a virus from someone and accidentally downloaded it. All my programs were messed up and my comp was useless. I asked a friend on what to do and he told me to reformat it. When I did, there were several missing devices in the Device Manager. I reinstalled all of them except for 2 unknown ones. The names of them are 'PCI Device' and 'PCI Simple Communications Controller'. They both are in the 'Other Devices' section and have a yellow question mark with a black exclamation point in a yellow circle. Unfortunately, I also have no sound and I believe those 2 devices should be related to my sound card some how. When I looked in the 'Sound, video and game controllers' section, everything was there and working properly. I downloaded EVEREST Home Edition and this was the report:

Thanks, but I still don't have sound. I followed all the instructions and still no sound. There still is a black exclamation point next to the PCI things in my Device Manager.

Everest is not giveing the motherboard or model, and also Everest is showing you have High Definitio audio , the PCI could be a sound card, are you audio plugs positioned on the I/O plate see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQzgQ39ovZY

do you know the make and model of your comp, if not try Belarc it may give clues to comp model, copy and paste the report, omit all software and win update section http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
