Boot error

My computer was exactly fine until i lately was trying to instlal world of warcraft... every once in awhile if i need my computer alone .. i come back and theres the black screen with "select proper boot device or insert boot media" error message then i have to shut down computer and turn it on for it to work again.. really annoying any fix?

sometimes that indicates that the mother board (cmos) battery is bad. If you notice the clock is also wrong, that would be another indicator.

Could also mean a faulty hard drive or a drive failure
