Critical Problem and machine hanged after 5 minutes of connecting broadband.

I am facing a vast problem with my broadband connection at windows xp service pack 2. Some days before my pc was working as fast as it should be. I have an inbuild lan point in mother board but i need an extra one so i insert a d-link lan card. Then i took broadband connection with this extra lan point because the inbuild lan point connected with another CPU. I have 80 gb HDD & 1 gb RAM. But yet my machine is very slow and after connected with broadband the machine hanged in between 10 minutes, each and every time.But if i not connected with broadband then it
doesn't hanged although it performs slow. I am a registered user of an antivirus software named 'Quickheal'. The officials of Quickheal confirmed me that my PC is not effected by viruses or malwares. I think that it is a problem of internet explorer (Version 7 Beta). Please Help Me and obliged.

Hi! Correct me if Im wrong you have 2 Lan cards in your PC? If so that is the problem. To conect to the internet and network at the same time you need a switch not another Lan card.
