No Sound After Win XP Pro install.

Hi there,

I have a Samsung P28 and installed Win XP Pro. This was a clean install and everything works fine except there's no sound. In the Device Manager, there is a yellow? with an exclamation mark on Network Controller, Video Controller and Multimedia Audio Controller.

Following other threads I have my Belarc Advisor report.

Operating System

Drives

TSSTcorp CDW/DVD TS-L462A [CD-ROM drive]
FUJITSU MHT2040AT [Hard drive] (40.01 GB) -- drive 0, s/n NN77T4515N72, rev 0022, SMART Status: Healthy

Memory Modules

Slot 'U5' is Empty
Slot 'U6' is Empty
Slot 'U5' has 256 MB
Slot 'U6' has 256 MB

Controllers
ATI PCI IDE Bus Master Controller
Primary IDE Channel [Controller]
Secondary IDE Channel [Controller]

Bus Adapters

NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controller (2x)
Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller

Network Drives, Printers, Dispaly, Multimedia all = None detected

I have been to the Samsung and ATI site, i've downloaded various components but im totally confused as none resolve the issue. Finally I read today that the yellow? with an exclamation mark means it incompatable.

If you could point me in the right direction, i'd be a happy bunny.

The solution to this was easier than I thought, www.samsungpc.com/products/p28/p28.htm contains all the original drivers loaded when the laptop was new.

Hope this helps someone else, if they have a samsung.
