HELP-computer randomly freezing!

hi, for the past 9 months my computer has been freezing randomly.
It freezes while i use it and even in screen saver mode. All i can do is hit the power button. Im getting irritated and am trying to figure out the problem. I am pretty sure it doesnt have to do with overheating because my fans are working properly like they have been and sometimes it freezes after 2 mins of turning on... I have run deep scans using Norton Anti Virus and also scanned using SpyBot and Adware SE Personal and i have not found a issue that could be causing this. Any suggestions?
